Is there a fee for paying with DirectPay?

In most cases, paying with DirectPay is free.  You will not be charged by Rebellious Unicorns however your bank with which you are completing the payment may impose a fee for completing a Request Money transaction.

Do I need to sign up or make an account to use DirectPay (Interac)?

No - all you need is a Canadian bank account. Almost every financial institution in Canada supports e-Transfer - for the list of over 250 that do, please visit this Interac page.

Is there a limit to the size of a payment I can complete using DirectPay (Interac)?

Yes, a DirectPay transaction must be $3,000 or less. However, you are also subject to any limits imposed by the merchant you are paying, as well as by your bank. The Interac e-Transfer limits for a bank account are commonly $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 p

Why do I need to provide a phone number to complete a DirectPay (Interac) payment?

Some financial institutions, such as CIBC and others, require the phone number of the merchant you are making a payment to. You can input the phone number of the merchant you are paying if you would like, but the phone number used will have no effect

Can I cancel a payment if I’ve already completed the Interac e-Transfer?
